Growing Lombardy

After a long weekend driving around the Macedon Ranges, we decided to pack up our little family and swap our suburban Melbourne garden for a 5 acre, rocky hilltop in Kyneton. Life-long gardeners, we decided to test our horticultural chops and planted a small orchard and a vegetable garden, to feed our family. This quickly grew to a flower patch, burgeoning ‘woodland’, Christmas trees and a greenhouse.

We focus on our soil health with minimal tilling and make our own amendments, to grow strong, healthy blooms.

Our dream is to keep building the farm so we can offer florists a range of field grown, local flowers. We like to offer flowers and foliage that are a little less common and provide a sumptuous point of difference for florists.

Our family includes:

Tom - chief builder, tractor driver and vegetable gardener. Favourite place is in front of the wood fired oven, churning out pizzas.

Erin - head of flowers, photo-taker and planner. Usually found in the flower patch, listening to gardening podcasts (or 80s power ballads).

Hugo - on lawn mowing and weeding duty.

Genevieve - herb garden grower and tea maker.

Chewy - our flying carpet of canine joy.

Mini pigs - Oscar and Felix; garbage disposal units.

Alpacas - Kevin, Macca and John Wick; our furry lawn mowers.

Field grown flowers,

grown with love.
